One Big Adventure

So! We have some big news! If the sign didn’t give it away, we’re having a baby! This is one of the main reasons why I started this blog. We are about to embark on a journey that will definitely change our lives! Baby Rodriguez is due February 2013. This blog will be a way for us to keep track of memories we make, stuff I find interesting, pregnancy updates, and whatever else strikes my fancy. We are heading into unknown territory so its sure to be an adventure. Thankfully, we like a good adventure :)

This blog post also appears on my brand new personal blog! If you would like to follow us check it out at http://jesslovestim.tumblr.com It will hopefully be interesting but at the least it should be pretty funny watching me figure out this whole motherhood thing!

WHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTT?!?! You’re pregnant?!?! (that’s me acting like I’m hearing this for the first time. Do you think I fooled anyone?)

Love you both. I love little baby bartholomew already. That’s what you’re naming the baby… Boy or girl, right?

Jokes aside (and I got lots) WE are very excited to watch you two become parents. We’re just happy we didn’t have to watch the actual act, if you know what I mean. HEY-O!!!
Sorry this comment got weird FAST. love you. Gonna go follow your blog now.

Modern Photo Studio Wedding: Max and Dana

Max and Dana are such an amazing couple and their wedding truly showcased that. They both had relaxed and happy demeanors throughout the entire wedding day and their friends and family added to the joy. Everyone seemed engaged in every event that took place. The room was filled with smiles, tears, and laughter throughout one of the most special wedding we have been a part of. Adding to how special this wedding was for us was the fact that Max was actually one of my college photography professors! He is one of the greatest portrait photographers of our time and you absolutely have to see his work here. Now, can you imagine how NERVOUS I was?! Oh boy. But I lived!

The entire wedding took place at the Helm’s Daylight Studio which was, obviously, very fitting.

Dana looked absolutely beautiful in her custom made Yvonne Chu of Kimera Design wedding gown.I love these shots Tim captured of Max and his dad before the ceremony. Max and Dana chose to have a First Look which we absolutely love. The following photos attest to the love these two have for each other and how sweet they are together. They decked out the Helm’s Daylight Studio with string lights and beautiful extra long, dark wood tables.Trail mix served as wedding favors. I love the sticker featuring Max’s and Dana’s distinctive hair styles. The couple’s friend led the processional with a twelve foot golden horn! The couple walked hand in hand behind it with the flower girls and ring bearer. The horn blower, Tommy Jordan, parted the guests with his giant golden horn. It was very affective. A friend officiated and Max and Dana’s guests stood around the couple. The parents stood at the front in place of a wedding party. Happy and married!First Dance. The couple had a Hora which was a blast. These two sang the sweetest song about Max and Dana. The room was filled with joy.
And then came the food! Heidi Wahl of Tender Greens catered the most amazing and delicious dinner and Laurel Almerinda made these beautiful desserts! Such a beautiful day!Max and Dana, thank you so much for trusting us to be your wedding photographers. It was such an honor and a pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful day. We wish you nothing but the best in your marriage!!!

Joshua Tree Wedding: Jenn and Jason, Part Two

Here is part two of one of our favorite weddings of all time! Gorgeous desert back-drop!There is just nothing like that desert sunset light.Jenn and Jason grew the succulent centerpieces themselves! They also served as keepsakes for their guests. My favorite details were the desert animal signs they used in place of table numbers. Genius!Sweet tea in customizable keepsake jars. The cupcakes were delicious. Such a cute set-up as well!Jason made awesome hanging lantern lighting for the reception. First Dance. It was a truly breath-taking evening.

Jenn and Jason, you guys know we love you! We hope you enjoy North carolina but that you miss california enough to come back often. You guys are seriously the best and we are so beyond blessed to cal you friends. We wish you all the happiness in the world!

Joshua Tree Wedding: Jenn and Jason, Part One

I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding. First of all, Jenn and Jason are just wonderful people. They are so kind and genuine and fun. When they told us they were getting married in Joshua Tree and about what their wedding would be like we were super nerdy and giddy about it. Their wedding was intimate with only about 50 guests including us and the officiant. Their friends and family came out for the whole weekend and helped Jenn and Jason make their wedding absolutely beautiful. The venue, Rimrock Ranch, is a rad private ranch out in the middle of the desert. We loved every second of it. The best part was getting to see Jenn and Jason surrounded by their amazing friends and family just having the best time ever. There was no wedding day stress, just love, excitement, and lots of dancing. We loved this so much that I just had to post it in two parts! Here is part one, from the preparations to their sweet First Look. Enjoy! His name is Lucky. This home is just too cool. To read more about it go hereJenn’s dress was stunning and it was topped off with that gorgeous handmade sash by the brides friend, Natalie Holihan. I loved Jenn’s dried florals she purchased from Etsy! Could not get enough of them. She wore her grandmother’s antique jewelry. Look at these invitations designed by their friend, Matt Fasnacht!Jenn got ready inside the main house. The decor was such a colorful and eclectic back drop. Jason got ready in the lodge which was plentiful in character and taxidermy. Jason hand-made these boutonnieres for his groomsmen!! There are shark teeth, trilobites (which he wore), bear bottle caps, and bristle-cone pine cones. Isn’t she lovely? Her red hair is just perfect. The First Look! Always one of my favorite parts of the day. They are such a good looking couple! Their wedding day style was fabulous. Remember to Breath.Come back tomorrow for part two of Jenn and Jason’s wedding spectacular!
