This was the second elopement Tim and I shot and it was amazing. This could get confusing since the groom's name is Tim so note that from here on when I refer to "Tim" I am referring to Tim Jordan, our groom :) Carissa and Tim are our favorite type of people: genuine, peaceful, deeply in love, and fun. They instantly make you aware of how deeply they care for each other and all of their loved ones. They find deep meaning in important moments and take time to savor them. We knew their elopement would be special. We still can't believe we get to do this stuff!
The day started with getting ready at The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, California. Carissa sat as her dear friend did her hair and make up and everything felt just as it should be. A few other besties helped and watched as she got ready to marry her love. A 90s Mariah Carey Pandora station played in the background. Meanwhile, Tim put on his suit, colorful socks, and shoes in a room downstairs from Carissa.
Once the bride and groom were ready we hopped into our car with the groom to head to the ceremony site in Joshua Tree National Park. Carissa waited five minutes before leaving with the officiant so we could get Tim set up in the first look spot. We got him situated and then walked to get Carissa. She walked up to her groom and they shared the sweetest moments as they saw each other in all of their bridal glory.
Next, they had their ceremony with just them and their officiant in the wide open Joshua Tree desert. The sky was bright blue and crystal clear. The weather was perfectly warm . Carissa and Tim read each other the vows they had written and promised each other forever. Needless to say, we all had tears in our eyes. Then Carissa laughed and let out a huge sigh of relief that they had achieved exactly the type of wedding they dreamed of.
We did portraits in all those beautiful Joshua Trees and then headed back to the Ace where their 15 best friends waited for them. Laughs, smiles, lots of tacos, plenty of love, and pie were had by all.
We love you Carissa & Tim!
